The Italian Space Agency (ASI) is Italy's national space agency, established in 1988 to draw up and implement national space policy in line with government direction. ASI funds, coordinates, and manages Italian civil space activity across science, Earth observation, telecommunications, navigation, launch systems, exploration, education, and space-economy programmes. It represents Italy in major international partnerships, works closely with ESA, NASA, industry, and research institutions, and is associated with flagship capabilities such as COSMO-SkyMed, PRISMA, Italian contributions to the International Space Station and Artemis, and the Vega launch-vehicle programme.
