I keep reading about electric aircraft startups and battery improvements but commercial aviation is still 100% fossil fuels. Is it just energy density or are there other major hurdles? Even for short regional flights, seems like electric could work.

Trying to compete with SpaceX pricing but adding environmental requirements. https://aerospace.org/kickstage/what-will-eu-space-acts-new-regulations-mean-industry Anyone think this will actually help European launch providers or just add more bureaucracy?

I've got fundamentals down but struggling with advanced topics like perturbation theory and station keeping maneuvers. My textbook (Curtis) is good but I need something that explains the intuition better. Any recommendations?

2026 for Artemis III seems really aggressive given all the delays. Heat shield issues on Orion, Starship HLS still needs to prove orbital refueling, spacesuits aren't ready. Am I being too pessimistic or does anyone else think we're setting ourselves up for disappointment?

I have two summer internship offers and I'm genuinely torn: 1. SpaceX - Propulsion systems, Hawthorne. Sounds incredible but I've heard the work-life balance is intense 2. Boeing - Commercial aircraft systems, Seattle. More traditional but better mentorship Anyone have experience with either company?

Hey everyone, I'm working on a project analyzing different turbofan engines and I keep getting weird numbers for bypass ratios. For the CFM56-7B, I'm calculating around 5.1:1 but I've seen sources saying it's closer to 5.5:1. I'm using: Bypass Ratio = (mass flow through fan - mass flow through core) / mass flow through core Am I missing something obvious here?

Hi everyone! I finally finished programming the forum! I am very proud of it! I want this to become the forum to go to for all aerospace-related questions. I can't wait for this to become a community! Eliot
