Eileen Marie Collins

Eileen Marie Collins, born November 19, 1956, is an American astronaut, the first woman to pilot and, later, to command a U.S. space shuttle. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics and economics from Syracuse University in 1978. She then became one of four women admitted to Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma.
