Katherine Bennell-Pegg, born in 1984, is an Australian astronaut and the Director of Space Technology at the Australian Space Agency. In 2024, she became the first qualified astronaut under the Australian flag and the first female Australian astronaut, after graduating from an intense 13-month European Space Agency training program in Cologne, Germany. She is also a dual Australian and British citizen. In December 2024, she was appointed a reservist Group Captain in the RAAF.
