Maurizio Cheli
Maurizio Cheli is an Italian astronaut and test pilot. He graduated from the Accademia Aeronautica in Pozzuoli (Italian Air Force Academy) and became a test and experimental pilot of high-performance aircrafts. In 1992, he joined the European Space Agency (ESA) and trained at NASA's Johnson Space Center. He was the first Italian to train as a professional astronaut.
