For the last few months, we've been slowly adding features and resources to the platform. While we've made significant progress, the progress has been too slow for me. I would like to build this platform into a central hub for everything related to aerospace.
I want AeroVia to have lots of small features and resources that together make it the best place for anyone. This means building lots of stuff and keeping it up-to-date and relevant. This has been a difficult task, and that's why I am writing this blog post to explain how we'll manage this going forward.
Let's take an example. We built a list with aerospace events, a single place where you can find all the aerospace events coming up. This is a feature that has to be maintained. And let's be honest, nobody wants to be searching a lot of websites all the time to keep this list up-to-date. This is the case for many of the tools we are building.
I do have a plan to solve this going forward. Together with the development team, I will be building an AI tool behind the scenes that can search the web and resources itself and update our data based on the latest results it finds online. This will give us access to all the data of the world, and curate it in a nice package for our users.
We would implement this for all resource-intensive features to take the burden off our contributors so they can focus on expanding our features and community. Starting with events, our dictionary, companies/universities/student-team lists, learning resources, news sources, and documents. Expanding later to the other features.
AeroVia will need a lot of contributors for programming, management, social media, merch shop, writing courses, and more! I am looking forward to working with all aerospace enthusiasts to make this work!
I don't want to hype everyone up with "AI, AI, AI" 🫠 I truly believe this is a tool AeroVia needs and the path forward. This is the best and fastest way for AeroVia to become a resource mega-hub for anything aerospace.
This will be achieved under the non-profit model with the hopes of getting donations, grants, and contributions from the community to make this a reality.
Looking forward to the future!
