Consolidated Aircraft Corporation

Consolidated Aircraft Corporation was an American aircraft manufacturer founded by Reuben H. Fleet in 1923. After early work in Rhode Island and Buffalo, the company moved to San Diego and became a major producer of training aircraft, flying boats, and long-range military aircraft including the PBY Catalina and B-24 Liberator. Its 1943 merger with Vultee created the company later known as Convair.
