Diamond Aircraft Industries is a general-aviation manufacturer founded in 1981 and headquartered in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, with production in Austria and London, Ontario, and additional operations in China. It designs and manufactures composite aircraft for private owners, flight schools and special-mission operators. Its range includes the single-engine DA20, DA40 and DA50 RG and the twin-engine DA42 and DA62. DA42 MPP and DA62 MPP variants integrate equipment for surveillance, surveying and other remote-sensing missions. The group combines aircraft, type-specific simulators and engines through its Austro Engine business; its vertically integrated production covers composite materials, tooling, airframes, wiring and systems. Development work includes the electric eDA40 and the DART turboprop trainer.
