IHI AEROSPACE is a Japanese aerospace manufacturer and wholly owned subsidiary of IHI Corporation. It develops and manufactures rocket and spacecraft hardware, defence systems and aircraft-engine parts. Its space portfolio includes Epsilon launch vehicles, hardware for Japan's H-II and H3 launch systems, and sounding rockets. Spacecraft propulsion products include bipropellant and hydrazine monopropellant thrusters, propellant and pressurant tanks, and integrated propulsion subsystems. The company has also supplied equipment for the International Space Station's Kibo laboratory and small-satellite deployer, experimental facilities, and Hayabusa and Hayabusa2 reentry hardware. Research spans solid, liquid and electric propulsion, heat-resistant materials and avionics. IHI AEROSPACE's space-systems work is distinct from the wider IHI group's aero-engine business.
