Perkin-Elmer Corporation was the historical U.S. technology contractor whose Danbury operation developed Hubble's Optical Telescope Assembly, primary and secondary mirrors, and Fine Guidance Sensors. The Hubble optics operation later became Hughes Danbury Optical Systems.
