Republic Aviation Corporation was the historical American aircraft manufacturer formed from the Seversky Aircraft Company in the late 1930s. Its Farmingdale plant designed and built the P-47 Thunderbolt and later Republic fighters before the company was acquired by Fairchild-Hiller in 1965.
