AFRL Rome Research Site is the Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate’s research campus, exploring, prototyping and demonstrating technologies for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence and cyber operations. The site is a secure research facility, not a public walk-in attraction. Official visitor instructions require a visit request at least 48 hours in advance; government and contractor visitors need the appropriate sponsor or Facility Security Officer process, a photo ID, a gate announcement and check-in and badging at Building 3, 525 Brooks Road, Rome, New York. Cell phones and laptops are allowed only in unclassified areas, and photography and recording are forbidden in and around the facility.
