Air Force Museum of Alberta

Air Force Museum of Alberta is a founding member of The Military Museums in Calgary and chronicles Royal Canadian Air Force history from the First World War to the present. The visitor experience combines the main Air Force Gallery, artifacts, interactive displays, restoration work and a nearby Cold War Exhibit in simulated hardened-aircraft shelters with four iconic Cold War aircraft, including the Canadair-built CF-86 Sabre, CF-104 Starfighter and CF-18 Hornet. Official visitor information says tickets are purchased on-site or online through The Military Museums; the main museum is open daily 10:00-17:00, while the Cold War Exhibit is open 10:00-16:00 with restricted staffing hours. The museum closes on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. Current listed admission is $17 for adults, $7 for seniors, students and youth ages 4–17, $40 for a family of two adults and up to five youth, and free for children 3 and under, veterans, serving military personnel and Military Museums members; prices exclude GST, valid ID is required where noted, and Access 2 support persons enter free. Free parking and accessible parking are available. The museum is across Crowchild Trail from Currie Barracks and Mount Royal University; approach via Flanders Avenue and Amiens Road. Wheelchairs, walkers and scooters are available in limited numbers first-come, first-served, and the museum is wheelchair-accessible. Licensed guide and service dogs are welcome with appropriate documentation; emotional-support, comfort and therapy dogs and other pets are not permitted. Food and drink are not allowed in exhibition galleries, but visitors may use the Snack Room and the Gift Shop offers sandwiches, coffee and snacks.
