Air Mobility Command Museum

Air Mobility Command Museum at Dover Air Force Base’s historic Hangar 1301 preserves the U.S. airlift and air-refueling story through more than 35 aircraft, cargo haulers, air refuelers, fighters, helicopters, a presidential aircraft and bomber, outdoor displays, engines, restoration work, humanitarian and wartime airlift exhibits and the former Dover AFB control tower. The public museum offers volunteer-led interpretation, STEM education and a flight simulator. The operator lists public hours Wednesday–Sunday 09:00–16:00; admission and parking are free, and it is closed Mondays, Tuesdays and all federal holidays except Veterans Day. Do not enter through Dover AFB’s main gate: use the museum entrance from Delaware Route 9 near US 113/DE 1 Exit 91. The main display hangar, museum store and restrooms are accessible; the outdoor C-141B Starlifter has a wheelchair ramp. Self-guided aircraft access depends on weather, while some aircraft require a guide; on the third Saturday of each month from April through October, Open Cockpit Day offers guided access to many aircraft from 10:00–15:00 when weather and guides permit.
