Airborne Museum Sainte-Mère-Église

Airborne Museum Sainte-Mère-Église preserves the airborne operations of the Normandy landings and the American 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Its five-building visitor experience includes an authentic Waco glider, a C-47 aircraft that carried paratroopers, historical objects and immersive interpretation of the D-Day drop and battles around Sainte-Mère-Église. The newer glider pavilion and renovated Occupation-and-Resistance route extend the museum’s aircraft and wartime interpretation. The operator’s current daily hours are 09:00–19:00 from May through August, 09:30–18:30 in April and September, and 10:00–18:00 from October through March; it is closed in December and January except Christmas vacations, and the ticket office closes one hour before the museum. Allow about two hours. Current listed admission is €11.50 for adults, €7.50 for children aged 6–16, free for children under 6, and €8.50 reduced admission for veterans, military personnel on leave and people with reduced mobility. A Histopad augmented-reality tablet is included with admission. Nearby municipal parking is paid; the nearest train station is Carentan, about 15 minutes away by car. Each building is ground-level or ramp-accessible except the C-47 platform; animals are not allowed except in a closed carrying bag. The operator lists the temporary exhibition “Comics Go to War” from 14 May 2026 through 30 November 2027.
