Al Mahatta Museum

Al Mahatta Museum occupies Sharjah’s first airport building, opened in 1932 as a staging post on Britain–India commercial routes and converted into a museum in 2000. Its aviation-history experience follows flight from early attempts through the Space Age, with restored propeller aircraft, the original refuelling tanker, historic airport film and UAE/regional aviation collections. Sharjah Museums Authority currently states that the museum is closed until further notice. After reopening, the published normal hours are Saturday–Thursday 08:00–20:00 and Friday 16:00–20:00; published admission is AED 10 for adults aged 13+, AED 5 for children aged 2–12 and free for children under 2, with free entry for people with disabilities and one companion and other listed concession groups. The authority lists visitor parking, restrooms, a wheelchair entrance, Wi-Fi and a baby-changing table.
