Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum

The Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum at Amelia Earhart Memorial Airport in Atchison, Kansas, honors the hometown aviator whose record-setting flights reshaped public ideas about women and aviation. Its centerpiece is Muriel, the world’s last remaining Lockheed Electra 10-E—the same model Amelia Earhart flew on her final round-the-world attempt—surrounded by 14 interactive history and STEM exhibits about her life, flight technology, navigation, women in aviation and the enduring mystery of 1937. The museum occupies a 17,000-square-foot airport hangar and offers hands-on learning and a virtual-flight experience. The operator’s current pages consistently list Wednesday–Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday 12:00–17:00, with last entry at 16:00; they conflict on Tuesday, with one visitor page listing it open and the homepage and contact pages listing Monday–Tuesday closed, so confirm Tuesday access before travel. It is closed on Easter, July 4, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
