American Airpower Museum

American Airpower Museum at historic Republic Airport in Farmingdale preserves Long Island’s military-aviation and aircraft-manufacturing heritage through a living collection of flying and static warbirds, artifacts, restoration work, education programs and flight experiences. Its historic Republic Aviation hangar connects the museum to the production of P-47 Thunderbolts and to the people who built, flew and maintained the aircraft. Exhibits and aircraft such as the Douglas C-47B Skytrain, North American P-51D Mustang, Curtiss P-40M Warhawk, North American B-25 Mitchell and Grumman TBM-3E Avenger bring American military-aviation history to life, while the museum’s flight and education programs support hands-on public learning. The operator’s current visitor page lists public hours Wednesday–Sunday 10:00–16:30, with last admission 30 minutes before closing; Monday and Tuesday are closed. Published general admission is $18 for adults ages 13–64, $15 for seniors 65+ and eligible retired military, veterans, law enforcement and firefighters with required identification, $12 for children ages 4–12, free for children 3 and under and members, and free for active-duty military with a valid DoD CAC.
