Armagh Planetarium

Armagh Planetarium, part of Armagh Observatory and Planetarium, is the longest-running planetarium in the British Isles; it opened in 1968 and now uses a digital full-dome projection system. The public experience includes dome shows and an exhibition area on astronomy, the Solar System, stars, galaxies and meteorites, plus a sensory room, the Astropark scale model of the Universe, Human Orrery, café, weather station and occasional data-visualisation demonstrations. It is open Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00 and closed Mondays except bank holidays; pre-booking digital theatre shows is essential, ticket prices vary by show or exhibition entry, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The planetarium’s public areas are wheelchair accessible with lifts, ramps and a loan wheelchair; a Changing Places facility and sensory supports are available.
