Aviation Museum of Kentucky

Aviation Museum of Kentucky is the official aviation museum of the Commonwealth, with dynamic aerospace education programs and more than 50 attractions spanning modern military and classic vintage aircraft, historic and jet engines, aviation artifacts and hands-on exhibits. The Kentucky Aerospace Education Center supports STEM learning. The Kentucky Aviation Roundtable founded the museum effort in 1978, the organization incorporated in 1981, and the museum opened to the public on April 15, 1995. The museum is closed Mondays. Regular April–December hours are Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday 13:00–17:00; January–March winter hours are Tuesday–Friday 11:00–16:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00 and Sunday 13:00–17:00. Last admission is 30 minutes before closing. Admission is $18 for adults ages 17–59, $16 for seniors 60+, $12 for youth ages 4–17, free for children 3 and under with a paid adult, $16 for U.S. veterans, active military, first responders and teachers, and $50 for a family of four; scheduled group tours are $11 per person and special-event pricing may vary. The museum closes for Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and may close for unsafe winter weather, so check the homepage before travel. Daytime parking is free; motor-home and bus spaces may be limited and overnight parking requires prior permission.
