Barksdale Global Power Museum on active-duty Barksdale Air Force Base preserves U.S. strategic-bombardment and global-strike heritage through ten exhibit galleries and an air park. Displays include B-17 and B-24 bombers, a P-51 Mustang, B-52D and B-52G Stratofortresses, an SR-71 Blackbird, a B-1B and other aircraft, with interpretation of the 2nd Bomb Wing, the Eighth Air Force and Air Force Global Strike Command. The official current visitor contract lists museum hours Monday-Friday 09:00-15:00, closure on weekends and federal holidays, and air-park access daily from dawn to dusk. Visitors without existing base access must submit the museum visitor request several weeks in advance; foreign visitors use a separate request and generally must apply at least 30 days ahead, confirm approval with Security Forces and enter through the designated North Gate. Access can be curtailed for training or real-world events. The visitor destination is at 88 Shreveport Road via North Gate Road, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana 71110, United States.
