Battle of Britain Memorial

The Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel-le-Ferne is the National Memorial to the Few, preserving the story and sacrifice of the aircrew who defended Britain in 1940. The memorial grounds include iconic Spitfire and Hurricane replicas, Channel views and memorial sculpture. The Wing visitor centre is not a museum: its immersive Scramble Experience, exhibitions and touch-screen interpretation introduce the battle and its people, alongside a shop and cafe. The grounds are open year-round on foot; visitor-centre, cafe, parking and event schedules vary. The site is wheelchair friendly but includes slopes that may need assistance; disabled parking and a lift to the cafe are provided, and bus service 102 stops outside.
