Bowen Orbital Spaceport

Bowen Orbital Spaceport at Abbot Point in North Queensland is Australia’s first licensed orbital launch facility, owned and operated by Gilmour Space Technologies in partnership with the Queensland Government, the Juru people of Bowen and the local community. It provides access to low- to mid-inclination Low Earth Orbits (20–65 degrees) for small-satellite and sovereign missions. Gilmour’s Eris TestFlight1 lifted off in July 2025 but ended within the safety area after an anomaly; current operator material targets a second test flight in Q4 2026 and describes ongoing launch-cadence development.
