B.P. Koirala National Observatory

B.P. Koirala National Observatory is Nepal's national optical observatory at Nagarkot and a recurring educational-visit destination for astronomy students. The government facility operates a 16-inch Meade LX200GPS Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with CCD and lunar-flash equipment, supports postgraduate dissertation and project work, and reports regular student groups visiting for night-sky observation. Access is programme-based rather than presented as daily walk-in tourism, complementing the development board's public science museum in Kirtipur.
