Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre

Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre in downtown Sault Ste. Marie preserves and interprets Canada’s bushplane and forest-protection heritage. Its collection includes 24 classic bushplanes, the original 1924 Ontario Provincial Air Service hangar, aerial-firefighting exhibits, restoration work, cockpit and flight-simulator experiences, a fire tower and family-oriented interpretation. The centre’s St. Mary’s River waterfront setting and registered water-based aerodrome connect the museum to the working history of bush flying and Ontario’s forest-protection service; float-plane visitors can use the registered water aerodrome, with aviation fuel available, by arranging details with the centre. The operator’s current winter hours are Monday closed and Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–16:00; it lists closure December 24–26. Free parking is available. Current Adventure Pass admission is CAD $18.50 adults, $17 seniors, $11.50 youth/students, $7.50 children, free for children 4 and under, and $55 for a family pass covering two adults and up to four children; prices are subject to HST. The centre provides manual wheelchairs, two scooters, an entry ramp, wide walkways, accessible and gender-neutral washrooms, free admission for support persons and access for working service animals. At the time of the current operator update, the automatic entrance door and the lift to the Flight Adventure Simulator are out of order; confirm access before travel.
