Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex Visitor Centre

Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex Visitor Centre is the free public gateway to CSIRO and NASA’s Canberra Deep Space Network station at Tidbinbilla, one of three global DSN complexes supporting spacecraft communications across the Solar System. Displays and viewing areas cover mission communications, Apollo Moon rock, spacecraft models and flown hardware, large antenna views, space-history films, astronaut food and hands-on journeys around the Solar System and galaxy; a playground and outdoor areas are also available. General public visitors do not need to book. Current general public hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 10:00–16:00; additional ACT school-holiday days may be added, and weekend public-holiday openings can vary. Entry is free. Schools, clubs and other groups should arrange visits in advance. The Deep Space Café and gift shop are currently closed, so bring refreshments. The remote site is about 35 km southwest of Canberra, approximately a 40–45 minute drive from the city centre, with limited mobile coverage, winding roads, rough sections and wildlife.
