Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 12 (LC-12) was a decommissioned Atlas launch complex used from 1957 to 1967. NASA and JPL missions launched from the pad, including Mariner 4 aboard Atlas-Agena D no. 12 on November 28, 1964, which returned the first close-up images of Mars; 37 Atlas rockets were launched from LC-12. The launch pad was completely dismantled in December 1976 and the blockhouse was demolished in September 2009. The site is not a public visitor facility; the Cape Canaveral Space Force Museum records a Blue Origin lease from 2018 for storage of test articles. Confirm current installation access and site status before travel. Facility reference: Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, United States.
