Cebreros Deep Space Antenna

ESA’s Cebreros station, DSA 2 (Deep Space Antenna 2), is a deep-space communications ground station about 77 kilometres west of Madrid and roughly 12 kilometres east of Cebreros in Ávila province. Its 35-metre antenna transmits in X-band and receives in X-, K- and Ka-band, supporting tracking, telemetry, telecommand and radiometric measurements. ESA lists routine support for deep-space missions including Mars Express, Gaia, BepiColombo, Solar Orbiter, Juice and Euclid, as well as resource-sharing support for other agencies. The station was formally inaugurated in September 2005, received its first X-band signal from Venus Express on 10 November 2005, and is remotely controlled for routine operations from ESA’s European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, with on-site management and maintenance. ESA publishes operational contacts rather than public visitor hours; treat this as controlled research infrastructure and arrange access with ESA in advance.
