Chabot Space and Science Center

Chabot Space & Science Center is Oakland's nonprofit public space-science center in Redwood Regional Park and home to the NASA Ames Visitor Center. Its experience combines interactive exhibits such as Going the Distance, CoLab: Other Worlds, Astrolight and Universe Unveiled with planetarium programmes, observatories, the 36-inch Nellie reflector and STEAM learning for all ages. Public hours, admission, field-trip/group reservations and telescope-viewing opportunities change with the calendar and weather, so check the operator's current visit and ticket pages before travel. The centre offers free parking, an AC Transit connection, accessible parking near the entrance, wheelchair and planetarium seating, and service-animal access. Nellie can provide a wheelchair-accessible viewing arrangement by advance request and is not operated during daylight.
