CIRA is Italy’s mainly publicly owned aerospace research centre, headquartered at Capua and founded in 1984. Its experimental infrastructure covers space re-entry and propulsion, aerodynamic and icing testing, space qualification, advanced materials, electric-propulsion vacuum testing, flight tests, and supercomputing for aerospace research and industry. Current work includes upgrades to the Space Qualification Laboratory and electric-propulsion facilities.
