Cold Lake Air Force Museum

The Cold Lake Air Force Museum is a fully accredited Canadian Forces museum on the former 42 Radar Squadron site, a 1954 Cold War facility, and one of four museums connected at the Cold Lake Museums complex. It interprets the history of 4 Wing Cold Lake and 42 Radar Squadron through squadron histories, technologies, artifacts, four galleries, the original radome and antenna exhibit, and a small airpark of four ground-level RCAF aircraft including a CF-18. The Cold Lake Museums first opened the Heritage and Air Force museums to the public on July 1, 1998. The operator’s 2026 homepage says the museum season runs Friday, May 15 through August 31, with Tuesday–Saturday 10:00–16:00 in May–June and Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–16:00 in July–August; a separate operator hours page says “Opening May 17”, so confirm the opening date and seasonal calendar before travel. Daily drop-in guided tours are offered at 10:30 on weekdays (Tuesday–Friday) from May 19, 2026 and take 1.5–2 hours; group tours should be booked in advance. Current admission is $20 for a family, $8 for an adult, $6.50 for seniors, veterans and current Canadian Forces members, $4 for children age 5 and older, and free for children age 4 and under.
