Cuno Hoffmeister Memorial Observatory

The Cuno Hoffmeister Memorial Observatory is a small astronomy-outreach observatory just south of Windhoek. The Astronomy Working Group of the Namibia Scientific Society uses the site for limited-capacity, advance-booked stargazing evenings rather than maintaining regular walk-in hours. Programs combine an introduction to the southern sky with guided observing through the observatory's 14-inch reflector and other instruments, covering planets, star clusters, nebulae, and other deep-sky objects. The Society's most recent annual reporting records a fully booked observing evening at the site and continued public astronomy events, while university astronomy programs also use the observatory for practical outreach sessions.
