DGA Essais en vol’s Istres site at Air Base 125 is an operational French state flight-test centre and one of the organization’s two sites, alongside Cazaux. It supports the development, qualification and acceptance of state aircraft and airborne systems, with instrumented aircraft, telemetry, engineering expertise and Mediterranean test areas; current DGA reporting documents Rafale guided-weapon integration trials and Albatros surveillance-aircraft test activity from Istres. This is a controlled military airfield and test site, not a general visitor attraction; no public visitor programme is published, so access requires authorization.
