DLR Site Cologne

DLR Site Cologne at Linder Höhe is the German Aerospace Center’s headquarters and a 55-hectare research campus. DLR’s current site information places nine institutes and central facilities there, working across aeronautics, space, transport, energy, digitalisation and security, with large-scale assets including wind tunnels, engine and material test stands and a high-flux-density solar furnace. The campus also hosts ESA’s European Astronaut Centre and lies near the European Transonic Wind Tunnel and Cologne/Bonn Airport. DLR offers free guided group visits by prior appointment; its tour page describes Wednesday–Friday sessions at 10:00 or 14:00, typically three hours, for groups of 10–28, with English on request. This is a working research campus, so use the separate DLR Cologne Visitor Centre record and confirm current registration and security guidance before travel.
