Dornier Museum Friedrichshafen beside Friedrichshafen Airport presents 100 years of aerospace history in a 6,000 m² hangar-style museum with nearly 400 exhibits, including original Dornier aircraft and helicopters, a Do-31 vertical-take-off prototype, the Do-X flying boat, full-scale Dornier Merkur and Dornier Wal replicas, and a spaceflight exhibition with an original Spacelab segment. Its permanent exhibitions connect Dornier engineering, aviation records and space exploration. The operator currently lists regular hours Tuesday–Sunday 10:00–17:00, with Monday opening on public holidays and during Baden-Württemberg school holidays; regular closures include December 24–25, December 31, January 1 and an annual January closure, so confirm special dates before travel. A public tour runs daily at 11:30 with limited places. Current admission is €14 for adults, €13 for retirees, €8 for children aged 6–16, €33 for a family of two adults and children up to 16, €10 for students aged 17+ and severely disabled visitors, and free for children under 6; valid ID is required for concession rates. A large visitor car park is available beside the museum for a €4 daily rate, and exhibition rooms are designed to be accessible. Animals are not permitted inside except guide dogs with the required identification. The Do 27 flight simulator is a separate 15-minute, €8 experience for visitors aged 12+ and depends on availability and booking; public tours and other programmes also vary.
