Dyer Observatory is Vanderbilt University's public astronomy and STEM outreach facility at 1000 Oman Drive, Brentwood, Tennessee. Vanderbilt says the historic building is temporarily closed for renovation through summer 2026; during this period, select astronomy events and pop-up programmes continue at other locations, and mobile field trips remain available. When operating onsite, all visits are ticketed rather than drop-in; Telescope Nights and Meet the Astronomer evenings combine exhibits and telescope viewing, weather permitting, and tickets are released about one month ahead. The historic Seyfert Telescope is reached by 20 stairs; main-floor exhibits, offices, library, residence, patio, accessible parking and restrooms are accessible, and staff may arrange an alternative telescope. Confirm reopening, event location, ticket availability, weather and access guidance before travel. Contact 615-373-4897.
