East Midlands Aeropark

East Midlands Aeropark is a volunteer-run aviation museum and airport viewing area beside East Midlands Airport, preserving British civil and military aircraft in an open-air park. Its collection includes complete airframes, additional aircraft under restoration, Rolls-Royce and other aero engines, a Link Trainer, aircraft components and photographs, with representative displays such as the Avro Vulcan, BAC Lightning, Nimrod, Buccaneer, Canberra, Sea King and other historic types. The aeropark combines aircraft interpretation with live runway observation; its static aircraft are outdoors and interior viewing depends on weather, staffing and aircraft serviceability. The operator’s visitor page says pre-booking is not available: pay on the day (£5 for adults aged 17+, £3 for children 5–16 and free for under-5s), with no concessions, parking included and cash or contactless payment accepted. Bus access is via the Derby and Nottingham Skylink services; use the Nags Head stop in Castle Donington. Accessible parking and toilets are available, but open aircraft are not wheelchair-, motor-scooter- or pushchair-accessible and grassed viewing mounds may be difficult for wheeled visitors. Assistance dogs are welcome but other animals are not. The car-park entrance has a 2 m height restriction; drones, kites and ball games are prohibited in this airport restricted flight zone.
