EUMETSAT Headquarters and Mission Control in Darmstadt is Europe’s operational meteorological-satellite agency and control center, operating Meteosat geostationary and Metop polar-orbiting fleets and delivering near-real-time weather, climate and environmental data to member states and Copernicus services. Since 1986, its satellite operations have supported forecasting, climate monitoring and public safety; when arranged through current EUMETSAT and Darmstadt guidance, public group tours offer a behind-the-scenes view with full-size satellite models. The active headquarters remains subject to operator-controlled registration and security.
