European Space Operations Centre

The European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) is ESA’s main mission-control campus in Darmstadt, operating spacecraft and supporting flight dynamics, ground systems, space safety and planetary-defence work. Public guided tours are arranged by Wissenschaftsstadt Darmstadt Marketing: individuals can join scheduled public tours, while private groups are limited to 20 participants; the minimum age is 10. Tours include an introductory film, ESOC operations facilities such as the Main Control Room, and the Rosetta engineering model. A participant name/nationality list is required five working days in advance and visitors must present valid identification. ESA’s 2026 ESOC Open Day is scheduled for 2 October; check ESA and Darmstadt Marketing for current dates, booking and security requirements.
