ESA’s European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) is the agency’s largest establishment and technical heart in Noordwijk, where teams prepare and manage projects spanning science, human spaceflight, telecommunications, satellite navigation, and Earth observation. Its 6,000-square-metre Test Centre provides environmental testing for space hardware, including vibration, acoustic, electromagnetic, and thermal-vacuum facilities, and is operated by European Test Services for ESA. Space Expo is the public visitor centre next to the site, while access to the ESTEC campus is controlled. ESA currently lists its 2026 Open Days for 26–27 September in Noordwijk; the disability-focused day is 26 September, 10:00–14:00, with free registration required, and the general day follows on 27 September with registration opening 31 August.
