Finnish Aviation Museum

Finnish Aviation Museum in Vantaa preserves Finnish aviation heritage in two exhibition halls spanning military, civil and changing displays, with around 80 aircraft and related engines, propellers, gauges, models, archives and simulators. The collection connects Finnish aircraft design, airline and military history with hands-on cockpit and flight-simulation experiences; guided programmes and research access are available through the operator. The museum is mainly accessible, with some stairs to exhibits, a loan wheelchair, an accessible restroom and service-dog access. Construction of a new Aviation Museum, planned to open in late 2027, has begun; the operator warns that Hall 2’s exhibition route has temporary restrictions while collections are prepared for the move. Current 2026 hours vary seasonally: September–May Monday closed, Tuesday 10:00–17:00, Wednesday–Friday 10:00–20:00 and weekends 10:00–17:00; June–August Monday–Tuesday 10:00–17:00, Wednesday–Friday 10:00–20:00 and weekends 10:00–17:00. The operator also lists closures on Independence Day, December 24–26, December 31–January 1 and Midsummer Friday–Sunday. Vantaa light-rail construction affects Aviabulevardi, with Turbiinitie as the replacement route for vehicles and buses; the Aviapolis train station is about 300 metres from the museum.
