Flugwerft Schleissheim

Flugwerft Schleissheim is the Deutsches Museum aviation branch at the historic Oberschleissheim airfield, where visitors trace aviation history from the Lilienthal glider to the Eurofighter across 8,000 square metres and about 70 aircraft, engines and models, including flying boats, helicopters, gliders, rockets and an Ariane 5 casing. Historic and new hangars also present restoration work, a meteorological observatory, radio equipment and a flight simulator. The operator currently lists daily opening from 09:00 to 17:00, with a published calendar for closures or partial-opening exceptions; aircraft rearrangement may occasionally affect the exhibits. Admission is 9 EUR for adults, 6 EUR reduced, 19 EUR for a family ticket, and free for children up to age 5; the annual pass for the three Munich Deutsches Museum branches costs 50 EUR, or 25 EUR reduced. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Exhibits are barrier-free and wheelchair accessible, with staff assistance available, while animals must stay outside. The museum recommends public transport: S1 to Oberschleissheim followed by a 15-minute walk, or buses 292 or 295 to Mittenheimerstrasse; car and bus parking is limited.
