Freeman Army Airfield Museum

Freeman Army Airfield Museum preserves the World War II history of Freeman Field in Seymour, an advanced twin-engine training base and 1945–46 Foreign Aircraft Evaluation Center. Its two surviving Link-trainer buildings hold donated cadet artifacts, photographs, uniforms, equipment and a restored base fire truck; exhibits include a WWII Link Trainer, electronic flight simulators, aircraft engines and propellers, and enemy-aircraft parts. The museum interprets the airfield, the Tuskegee Airmen and 477th Bombardment Group’s 1945 protest, and local service history. Both buildings are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. This volunteer museum offers public, group and appointment access through current operator arrangements; confirm the schedule before travel.
