Freeman Army Airfield Museum

Freeman Army Airfield Museum preserves the World War II history of Freeman Field in Seymour, an advanced twin-engine training base and 1945–46 Foreign Aircraft Evaluation Center. Its two surviving Link-trainer buildings, each about 3,000 square feet, hold donated cadet artifacts, photographs, uniforms, equipment and a restored base fire truck; exhibits include a WWII Link Trainer, two electronic flight simulators, aircraft engines and propellers, and enemy-aircraft parts. The museum interprets the airfield, the Tuskegee Airmen and 477th Bombardment Group’s 1945 protest, and local service history. Both buildings are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant, and a full tour takes about 1.5 hours. The operator lists public hours 10:00–14:00 every Saturday, except Christmas and New Year’s weekends; other visits are by appointment. Admission and parking are free, with donations welcomed.
