Gauribidanur Radio Observatory is a radio astronomy field station run jointly by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics and the Raman Research Institute, with observations of the Sun in radio waves dating to the 1950s. The IIA accepts campus visits on Tuesdays only, except government holidays, through a form submitted at least 15 days ahead; visits are coordinator-guided within marked areas, and sun protection is recommended.
