Gemini South Observatory is the 8.1-metre southern telescope of the International Gemini Observatory on Cerro Pachón, using adaptive optics, spectroscopy, and advanced imaging for research across the southern sky. Free reserved Friday tours travel by bus from the Route 41 access gate to the working observatory, where visitors explore the control room, main telescope platform, instruments, and mirror-coating area.
