NASA's Goldstone Deep Space Communications Complex near Barstow, California, is one of the three geographically separated complexes in the Deep Space Network. Its large antennas and local signal-processing systems support spacecraft communications, tracking, telemetry, command, precision navigation, radio astronomy, planetary radar and mission operations. NASA places the operational complex on the Fort Irwin Military Reservation. The separate NASA Goldstone Visitor Center is an offsite public outreach venue at Barstow's Historic Harvey House; it is not the operational-complex address. Use the visitor-center record and current NASA/GDSCC guidance for visitor information rather than assuming access to the operational site.
