HARS Parkes Aviation Museum

HARS Parkes Aviation Museum is a distinct Historic Aircraft Restoration Society collection at Parkes Airport, housed in a former RAAF Bellman hangar from the Second World War. The site connects Parkes aviation history—from the first 1919 landing and wartime navigation, wireless-gunner and operational training schools to post-war Mosquito operations—with a substantial Australian aircraft display and restoration programme. Exhibits include the Bell AH-1 Huey Cobra, de Havilland DHC-4 Caribou, DH.114 Heron, Convair 580, Dakota, Macchi trainer, Lockheed P2V Neptune, Westland Wessex, Grumman Tracker and Lockheed 12A Electra Junior, with additional airframes and restoration work changing as the branch develops. Public access is published for Thursdays and Sundays, with other visits by appointment; the operator and local venue should be checked for current opening, aircraft availability and access arrangements while the new Muzycuk Drive museum site is developed.
