Hermann Oberth Space Travel Museum

Hermann Oberth Space Travel Museum is Germany’s museum and archive for space history and the oldest dedicated space museum in Western/Central Europe, founded in 1971 in Feucht to preserve rocket pioneer Hermann Oberth’s work. In the gatekeeper’s house of Pfinzingschloss, its permanent exhibition traces 20th-century spaceflight from Jules Verne and early rocket theory through the first liquid rockets and practical spaceflight, using original documents and exhibits, models and media from Oberth’s estate, space institutions and private collections. Public visits follow the operator’s limited weekend/holiday or prior-arrangement contract; the historic three-level premises are not generally accessible, with limited wheelchair support available by advance contact.
