H.R. MacMillan Space Centre

H.R. MacMillan Space Centre in Vancouver’s Vanier Park has been British Columbia’s premier space-science attraction since 1968. Its planetarium Star Theatre, Cosmic Courtyard gallery, live science demonstrations, observatory experiences and public and school programmes connect astronomy with culture and hands-on learning. The operator is open seven days a week, 10:00–17:00; admission includes a 45-minute Planetarium Star Theatre show, a 20-minute live science demonstration and Cosmic Courtyard gallery access. Current listed admission is CAD $27.50 plus tax for adults 19–54, $25.50 for youth 12–18 and seniors 55+, $19.60 for children 5–11, $85.35 plus tax for a family of up to five with no more than two adults, and free for children under 5 with a paying adult; online purchases add a $1 transaction fee. Tickets are available online or at the front desk, with no advance booking required. The centre is at Vanier Park, 1100 Chestnut Street, Vancouver, BC V6J 3J9, Canada; buses 2 and 32 stop about a five-minute walk away, pay parking is available in Lot 60, and the False Creek Ferry serves Vanier Park.
