Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center

Huffman Prairie Flying Field Interpretive Center explains how Wilbur and Orville Wright turned their first powered flights into the world's first practical airplane and later operated a flying school on the nearby prairie. Films and exhibits also trace the Wright legacy through experimental and military aviation at McCook Field and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base before visitors continue to the historic flying field. The interpretive center is at 2380 Memorial Road, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio 45433. NPS lists public hours Wednesday–Sunday 09:00–16:00, with Monday–Tuesday closure and closure on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The nearby Wright Memorial and a 30-minute Wright brothers film complement the exhibits; ask rangers about visiting the separate historic flying field at Gate 16A.
